Rules

Next to the Code of Honor the following rules apply to the competition.

Eligibility

The competition is open to everybody, including space experts, data-mining experts and citizen scientists.
No nationality restrictions apply for the submission of solution files.

Since all complete submissions will be evaluated on both CPU time and identification accuracy, there will be no "declared" winner to this competition. Most of the non dominated solutions would infact be of interest.
Remember ... we do it for science, so loads of kudos and respect to all participants that perform well.
At the end of the competition, the leaderboard will show both performance indices and the authors of the most interesting algorithms (as judged by ESA experts on the basis of the leaderboard), will be invited to the next European Space Agency's "AOCS Sensors and Actuators Harmonization meeting" (or a comparable event) where they will be able to meet with the relevant European manufacturers to discuss possible collaborations. The submitted source code will only be used for the purpose of evaluation and will not be distributed outside of the Advanced Concepts Team, nor used for different purposes.
The copyright of all files and algorithms will stay with the submitter.

Before the competition deadline, solutions, notebooks, code snippets may be shared publicly.
The submission limit is one submission within the last 24 hours.
After each submission, the identification accuracy will be automatically computed by our server and appear on the leaderboard. In case a C file is also provided, the CPU efficiency will also be computed, but not automatically. This second objective may then appear on the leaderboard with some delay.
Only submissions that will, at the end of the competition, have both objectives computed will be considered for an invitation to the ESA Strategy and Harmonization relevant meet-up.
